Truth & Reconciliation Day is recognized
in Manitoba annually on September 30.

As we approach September 30, we invite parishes and the faithful to participate fully in the day’s events and educational activities.

* We invite parishes to incorporate orange flowers in decorations for Mass on September 25nd.

* We invite parishes to pass out orange ribbons after Mass on September 25nd.

* We invite parishes and families to put un an Every Child Matters Flag.

* We invite parishioners to wear orange on September 30.

The Listening to Indigenous Voices tool, prepared by the Jesuit Forum for Faith and Social Justice, is an excellent resource for facilitating small group meetings and discussion groups in parishes.

 

“INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION FUND BOARD OF DIRECTORS REPORTS PROGRESS ON $30 MILLION NATIONAL FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT”.

“The Fund has already collected $4.6 million from Catholic dioceses across the country, as part of a nationwide commitment to raise $30 million over the next five years. Project proposals from Diocesan / Regional Reconciliation Committees are being presented to the Fund, as part of an effort to support and encourage local collaboration between Catholic entities and Indigenous partners.”
