The Holy Father’s pilgrimage to Canada - July 24-29, 2022

This pilgrimage will focus on Indigenous healing and reconciliation while also providing the shepherd of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics an opportunity to encounter and share with the faithful in Canada.

This will be a time of listening and dialogue with Indigenous Peoples, addressing the impact of colonization and the participation of the Catholic Church in the operation of residential schools throughout Canada.

Drawing on the theme, “Walking Together”, the Holy Father’s journey of reconciliation, healing and hope includes visits to a former residential school, Indigenous pilgrimage sites, two public Masses and a mix of private and public events.

  all of which will be broadcast and accessible via live stream.
