In the National Family and Life Week context, the Permanent Council of the CCCB has issued an Open Letter to the Government and a Message to the Catholic Faithful on permitting persons with mental illness to access euthanasia/assisted suicide.

Prior to being submitted to the Permanent Council for approval, the texts were drafted by the CCCB Office for Family and Life and reviewed by several Bishops, as well as experts in the fields of ethics, law, medicine, mental health, and palliative care.
