31st World Day of the Sick - February 11, 2023

The World Day of the Sick is celebrated each year on February 11, the liturgical memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Pastors, parishes and the faithful are invited to mark and celebrate this day in our parishes, in our families, in our charitable work and in our personal prayers. To help you better celebrate this important day, we offer the following resources:

The Holy Father invites us "to reflect on the fact that it is precisely through the experience of fragility and illness that we can learn to walk together in God's style of closeness, compassion and tenderness.”

The CCCB is also inviting parishes to organize and promote its Horizons of Hope program, which seeks to empower, inform and educate the faithful on issues related to palliative care, death, suffering, accompaniment and bereavement, addressing them in a holistic way. Among other things, congregants are invited to visit a loved one or stranger who is confined.
